Peter
Price will be taking the Stone Carving Class
at The Potters Barn.

Peter Price
produces original hand carved natural stone
figures and sculptures. Some of his more famous
pieces include Gargoyles and the Green Man's
head covered in moss, grown to a secret recipe,
that makes the head look hundreds of years old.
As well as having a range of stock items Peter
works to commission, one of his better known
clients being the Alton Towers Hotel for which
he made Alice in Wonderland themed sculptures.
Have a look at the Stone Carving Course Photos
to see what you could produce in just one day
under the guidance of Peter Price.

Some
Comments on the course:-
Hello Andy,
Just a small note to say a big thank
you for a wonderful weekend - I really enjoyed
the stone carving, and my dog's head is now
sitting proudly on the patio. I still can't
believe that I actually made it, with a lot of
guidance and support from Pete of course! I've
written a short piece below, in case you're
looking for customer feedback for the website -
plese feel free to use some/all of it, if you
like.
Thanks again, Teresa

I had no idea
if I would like stone carving (or if stone
carving would like me!), so booking the 2-day
course was a bit of a gamble. However, I
wanted to make something a little different,
so I decided to allow plenty of time to give
it my best shot. I was not disappointed. Pete
was a friendly instructor, extremely skilled
at his craft and very enthusiastic about
sharing his knowledge and experience with the
group. He was always quick to offer practical
suggestions to correct and improve our work,
but without compromising our own mental image
of the finished work. The cold buffet lunches
were really tasty (especially the home-grown
tomatoes), and set us up nicely for the rest
of the day. At the end of the weekend, I took
home a pretty good carving of my dog's head...
and a pair of rather stiff arms!
Hidden away
from the hustle and bustle of modern life, The
Potters Barn is a genuine breath of fresh air.
And as for the stone carving? If you want to
try something different, don't hesitate to
sign up for one of Pete's courses ... I would
thoroughly recommend it!

I also thoroughly enjoyed Peter's stone
carving course on October 9th. I was amazed at
the simplicity of the tools and the fact that
we all managed to make something in so short a
time. The food was good too! I would (and
have) recommended it to a friend. Regards.
